All our physicians that visit the participants are fully qualified medical doctors and have been carefully selected and interviewed by our Medical Director, Dr. Mike Louw. All our doctors have extensive experience working within the HealthWatch screening programmes and are familiar with the high standards that we work to.
Dr. Mike Louw - Medical Director
With over 20 years’ experience in the medical testing sector working in large pathology laboratories in South Africa and Ireland, Dr. Mike Louw is our consultant pathologist and medical director. Dr. Louw is responsible for ensuring that appropriate and relevant tests are selected for your health screen. He oversees all of the programme results and will ensure that any significantly abnormal results are followed up appropriately.
Dr. John Walsh - Occupational Health Specialist
All ECG’s are reviewed by Dr John Walsh who has worked with HealthWatch for many years. Dr. Walsh decides on the appropriate course of action to take after the health screen if he is concerned about an ECG result.
Dr. Rory O Hanlon - Consultant Cardiologist
Dr. O Hanlon qualified from UCD as a doctor in 1999 and has been with HealthWatch since 2003. A consultant cardiologist since 2009, Dr. O Hanlon spent 3 years in the Royal Brompton Hospital in London specialising in cardiovascular magnetic resonance, heart failure, and sudden cardiac death/sports cardiology.
Dr. Sean McGrath - Doctor
Dr Sean McGrath graduated in medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He holds postgraduate qualifications in child health and women's health, and has been in general practice since 2001. He has extensive experience in health screening, having worked with HealthWatch for the past 11 years.
Dr. Muirne Spooner - Doctor
After graduating with honours from University College Dublin and completing her internship and time as a senior house officer in medicine, Dr Spooner worked as a tutor in the Department of Medicine, UCD and then as a clinical competencies lecturer. She has presented at several international conferences in medical education.
All HealthWatch nurses are fully qualified and registered with An Bord Altranais. Most of our nurses have been part of our screening team since 1997 and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience from the many onsite screens they have completed. All nurses are fully trained in health and lifestyle screening and undergo a comprehensive training course and examination prior to each client contact. All Wellwoman nurses have completed the Irish Family Planning course, both theoretical and practical, and the majority of our nurses are registered smear takers.
Marie Hennigan - RGN
Marie, with over 25 years nursing experience gained in intensive/coronary care, recovery room, medical and surgical wards and the Occupational Health Department in St Vincent’s University Hospital brings a wealth of experience and know how to our team of nurses. Marie has been with HealthWatch since 1997 and in that time has played a major role in the development of our workplace health screening services.
Joan Brennan - RGN
A qualified nurse and midwife with over 36 years experience gained in intensive care and the general surgical ward, Joan is a key member of the HealthWatch team. Joan has been with HealthWatch for over 8 years and has gained invaluable experience screening thousands of employees in various organisations throughout the county.
Laura Oberoi - RGN
Having travelled extensively throughout her life and worked as a Nurse in 4 different countries Laura has gained an in depth understanding of diverse cultures and their needs. A state registered nurse and psychiatric nurse Laura has worked with HealthWatch for over 7 years.
Stella Hogan - RGN
Having completed her training in St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin, Stella has amassed over 30 years nursing experience. With specialist training in CCU/Midwifery & Diabetes training Stella has worked with HealthWatch for over 5 years.
Julie Creagh - RGN
With close to 30 years nursing experience gained at both home and abroad, Julie is a registered Sick Children Nurse (R.S.C.N) and a Registered General Nurse (R.G.N.). Julie is a qualified massage therapist and has also worked as an Occupational Health nurse in the Garda Siochana for over 5 years.
Gabby Punch - RGN
With over 20 years experience gained working in the cardiology department in Charlemont Clinic, the allergy and respiratory clinic, Medicheck & Check up Ltd Gabby brings a wealth of experience to the panel of HealthWatch nurses. Gabby is also qualified as a Human Givens practitioner and was awarded a higher diploma from Nottingham University in 2010. Gabby is also a specialist in stress management, anxiety disorders, depression and addictions.
Christine Kiernan - RGN
Having completed her training in the Mater Hospital, Belfast, Christine has amassed over 34 years nursing experience, 5 of which have been spent working with HealthWatch. Christine’s experience has expanded working in the Coronary Care Department in the Mercers Hospital, Our Lady's Hospital Navan, St. Michael's, Dun Laoghaire and Leopardstown Park Hospital.

With over 13 years experience Brid has responsibility for maintaining the quality system to meet the ISO15189 standard for the medical laboratory where all samples are analysed. Brid is responsible for ensuring the rapid turnaround times of results.
